Tourism Ireland CEO Niall Gibbons and Chairman Joan O'Shaughnessy at "Ready for Recovery" virtual event yesterday
Yesterday at a virtual event attended by hundreds of tourism companies, Tourism Ireland shared its plans for reopening international tourism in 2021.
A campaign targeting the Irish diaspora in the US, Canada and the UK is now live and will run through mid-January in print and digital media.
Then, during the 2020 Christmas holiday period, Tourism Ireland will be running a major digital video campaign with the theme "Let's get back to Ireland", promoted on social media in 12 international markets in North America, Europe and the UAE.
Current global social campaign #FillYourHeartWithIreland will continue into 2021, and this month will include a #ChristmasInIreland promotion.
Then around St. Patrick's Day 2021 Tourism Ireland will launch "The Green Button" campaign intended to drive direct response in the form of immediate booking. This campaign will feature videos shot at outdoor attractions including Titanic Belfast, the Cliffs of Moher and the Giant's Causeway.
The Ireland.com website has been significantly redesigned as is now going live in 30 countries and 11 languages.
Broadcast promotions are planned for PBS and Channel 5.
At the trade level, Tourism Ireland will participate in 20+ virtual trade events including ITB Berlin, the PGA Merchandise Show, the LA Travel & Adventure Show, and will conduct sales missions to the Gulf Countries, Austria and Switzerland.
And once again, the Global Greening promotion will be run around the world at St.Patrick's Day 2021.
