Tourism Ireland Head of North America Alison Metcalfe (center above, with green button) reports that 14 Irish tourism companies and 5 American tour operators are this week engaging in a "Best of Ireland" sales mission to the US, meeting with travel agents in Boston, NYC, DC and Chicago.
Ms. Metcalfe said:
“We are rolling out our Green Button campaign in the United States right now – urging travellers to ‘press the Green Button’ and book their trip to Ireland this year. Our extensive programme of promotions is targeting those consumers with the greatest potential to travel to Ireland. Our message is very simple: Ireland is open for business again and we cannot wait to welcome back visitors from the United States. We’re telling prospective US visitors that a warm welcome awaits them when they travel to Ireland, despite the disruption of the last couple of years.”
After 2 years of doing virtual events because of COVID-19, in its new, live sales blitz Tourism Ireland is delivering its largest ever program of promotions in the US, wirth the goal of restarting visitation to Ireland by Americans in 2022.
Another sales mission is planned to the US west coast next month, with stops in LA, San Francisco and Seattle.
