City agency Transport for London has banned Uber from operating in the city, possibly as a result of pressure from cabdrivers and unions.

Uber has e-mailed customers urging them to protest, and many have, calling on Mayor Sadiq Khan to rescind the ban.

Situation has implications for Uber worldwide.
