Members of Parliament have passed by a vote of 358 to 234 Bill 2019-20, creating the basis for the UK leaving the European Union on 31 January 2020.
Members will debate the bill again on 7 January, but approvals by Commons, Lords and the Queen are expected before 31 January.
The terms of Johnson's withdrawal bill necessitate a customs border in the Irish Sea between the Island of Ireland and England/Scotland/Wales.
Negative effect on Irish tourism appears inevitable.
How will this play out? Stay tuned.
