Tourism trade body UKinbound has announced its support of the Withdrawal Agreement proposed by PM Theresa May on 14 November as a better alternative to a no-deal Brexit
But UKinbound chairman Mark McVay also expressed reservations about some aspects of the plan, most particularly those regarding the treatment of the migrant workers - on whom the tourism industry so heavily depends - after March 2019.
The European Council is expected to meet in an emergency session on 25 November to vote on the 500-page proposed Agreement.
Ireland Taoiseach Dr. Leo Varadkar has said that he believes the Good Friday Agreement won't be affected by the Withdrawal Agreement as drafted.
Let's hope that's true, because a return to a hard Ireland-NI border would be a tragedy for both countries, and a devastating blow to their tourism industries.
