US VP Mike Pence announced on Saturday that the travel ban on travel to the US from Schengen zone countries announced earlier by President Donald Trump will be extended to the UK and Ireland, effective midnight Monday, 16 March.
The ban does not apply to US citizens or their immediate family members, or to most legal permanent residents of the US. But such persons will have to re-enter the US through selected airports that have enhanced screening procedures available.
