Central Statistics Office reports that visits to Ireland were up 2.4% in 2Q2019 vs. 2Q2018.
But leisure visits were up only 0.39%, visits from Great Britain up 0.30%, overnight visits down 0.04%.
Spend increased 2.1% overall, or 2.6% if fares are excluded.
Underperformance of the Great Britain market is likely related to Brexit uncertainty and the resultant weakness of the pound sterling.
