Travel software and technology company Sabre Corporation announced today that because of Russia's aggression in Ukraine it has terminated its distribution agreement with Aeroflot and is removing all the Russian carrier's flights from its Global Distribution System (GDS).
The Sabre GDS is a digital marketplace used by travel agencies, tour operators and corporations around the world to book and service flight reservations. Sabre's platform is used in more than 160 countries and manages more than $250B of travel spend annually.
Being cut off from Sabre's GDS cripples Aeroflot's ability to sell seats.
