To participate in the Select program, properties have to have high ratings and reviews by past guests, and be inspected and photographed by agents of Airbnb. They'll also see a boost in search prominence at Airbnb, have the ability to raise rates, and in some cases receive financial assistance through Airbnb.

This will be the one of the biggest changes to Airbnb's business model to date.

Look out, hotels and BnBs!
