Under the new regulations to be administered by the Tourism Ministry::
- Owners renting out their homes for periods shorter than 31 days must register, buy a $50-75 permit, and incorporate the registration document into all contracts and listings.
- Tenants in duplexes or triplexes must get permission from landlord before renting out.
- Condo owners must get permission from condo association.
- Everyone renting out a property short-term must pay Quebec 3.5% Accommodation Tax.
