"The Brexit vote has been great news for domestic tourism providers, with staycation numbers rising rapidly since 23rd June, when the British electorate voted to leave the European Union. British seaside resorts, including Brighton, Margate, Whitby, Eastbourne, Bournemouth, Blackpool, Hastings, Salcombe, St. Ives, Torquay and Skegness are all reporting post-referendum tourism booms."

In a new survey by Barclays 70% of British adult respondents said they are planning a staycation this year, and the seaside is their #1 choice in 1H2016.
The UK Government says that the average spend on a staycation in 2016 is 613 GBP, up 7% from 2015.
With the pound sterling worth 11% less than it was before 24 June, International visits to the UK were up 2% YOY in 1H2016.
The government has announced its "Tourism Action Plan - August 2016", the keystone of which is a 40M GBP fund to increase tourism investment outside London.
