County Offaly Fine Gael TD Marcella Corcoran Kennedy has called on Tourism Ireland to create a tourism brand for the Midlands region - counties Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford - distinct from the Ireland's Ancient East brand.

The Midlands counties attracted some of the smallest numbers of international visitors last year.
