As tourism and hospitality businesses recovered from the September hurricanes, employment in the sector increased sharply (+89,000 jobs) in October.
Significant numbers of jobs were added in professional and business services, manufacturing and health care also.
281,000 fewer people were out of work.
Average hourly earnings remained flat at $26 and change.
