Welsh tourism providers say an additional tax on tourists would put them at a competitive disadvantage vis-a-vis other UK destinations.
The tourism tax is 1 of 4 proposed by the Welsh Finance Ministry. A Ministry spokesperson said in a statement:
"We...will develop and refine all four ideas further, then propose one new Welsh tax to the UK government early in 2018 and consult extensively after a decision has been made."
