ITIC points out that this government budget falls "far short" of the 600M EUR investment they believe needs to be made in "new attractors of international appeal and scale."
But ITIC looks favorably on some of the provisions of the plan:
- 108M EUR for Failte Ireland to use for tourism product development over the next 4 years, with at least that level of funding to be maintained over life of the plan
- funding for 2 Failte Ireland grant schemes
- increased investment for infrastructure including airports, ports, roads and rail
- 56M EUR for completion of the Galway to Dublin Greenway, and additional greenway projects
- creation of a rural economic development fund
- investment in culture, heritage and sport
- National Regeneration and Development Agency created to drive creation of affordable housing on underutilized land in cities and towns

We in the USA envy the generosity of the Irish government!
