Bay Ferries

Bay Ferries CEO Mark McDonald said in a statement that his company is considering moving its Maine terminus from Portland to Bar Harbor.

Portland is in the process of upgrading its terminal facilities to the standards demanded by the US CBP, while Bar Harbor town councilors are debating buying and improving the State of Maine terminal facility located there.

Bay Ferries' "The Cat" service between Maine and Yarmouth, NS is subsidized by the Province of Nova Scotia.

A decision on the 2018 route may be announced as early as this week.
