The UK Post Office says cost of a holiday in Turkey has fallen as much as 50% since US tariffs on steel and aluminum were put into place, which combined with other economic factors have caused the lira to crash against the GBP and other world currencies. Last week one GBP bought 7.3 lira, compared with 4.3 a year ago.
The governments of the USA, Canada and the UK all have travel advisories in effect urging citizens to exercise extra caution when visiting Turkey.
