A poll of 1000 UK holidaymakers taken by WTM on Monday found:
- 57% don't think tourists (in general) should have to pay tourist taxes.
- But 45% think that since they pay tourist taxes abroad, the UK should impose a similar tax on visitors.
Some UK cities - Edinburgh, Bath, Birmingham - are considering levying a tourist tax, but DMOs and hoteliers tend to oppose.
