Thanasis Theocharopoulos

Greek PM Alexis Tsipras has named agricultutral economist and Democratic Left Party (DIMAR) leader Thanasis Theocharopoulos Culture Minister - which includes the Tourism portfolio - following the resignation of predecessor Elena Kountoura who has resigned to seek a seat in the EU Parliament.

Critics say this appointment is a payoff for Theocharopoulos' support of Tsipras' North Macedonia name deal.
