Regarding tourism from the Netherlands:
"...Awareness of environmental issues is also growing, with the study [by ANVR/GFK] showing that 60% of Dutch people are now considering the environmental impact of their holiday before deciding on a destination..."
And re the Nordic countries:
"Flygskam - "shame of flying" - remains a tending topic in the region. In 2018 Swedes made half a million fewer journeys overseas for leisure purposes than the year before - around 11.2 million, down from 11.7 million in 2017. The Danish Government has recently introduced climate legislation that aims to reduce emissions by -70%, with air travel set to be included to achieve this goal..."
Although May arrivals to Ireland from mainland Europe were down 4.6% from May 2018, overall visitation from mainland Europe to Ireland in January-May 2019 was up 3.2% compared with the similar period in 2018.
