Indian airline Tata SIA Airlines dba Vistara on 21 August began daily service on a 1926-km route between Mumbai and Dubai International using A320 aircraft. Emirates, Air India and IndiGo also fly this route.

And on 26 August Air New Zealand began 5/week year-round service on a 1173-km route between Auckland and Invercargill using A320 aircraft. There's no competition on this route. Invercargill, located near the southern tip of NZ's South Island, is home to Bill Richardson Transport World's collection of vintage cars, Queens Park and Waituna Lagoon, and is a gateway to wilderness areas including Stewart Island and Rakiura Track.
