On 9 December 2019 Emirates began daily flights between Dubai and Mexico City using 777-200LR aircraft. Connections to Asia and Central America are expected to account for 78% of traffic on this route.

And on 7 December Air Belgium began 2/week service from Brussels Charleroi to Caribbean destinations Fort-de-France, Martinique and Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe using an A340-300 aircraft. There's no competition on this route.
