Because Cathay Pacific Flight 812 had taken off from Hong Kong before the Sunday 5 PM EST deadline set by the Trump Administration, it was able to land at Boston Logan on Sunday night.
But that's the last fight from China that will be landing at Logan for the foreseeable future.
The China entry ban to be enforced by US DHS applies to "foreign nationals, other than immediate family of US citizens and permanent residents, who have traveled to China within the last 14 days. And Americans returning from Hubei Province face a mandatory 2-week quarantine.
As of Monday 3 February all flights to the US from China are now being diverted to these airports:
- Chicago O'Hare
- New York JFK
- San Francisco
- Seattle
- Los Angeles
- Honolulu
- Atlanta
- Washington-Dulles
- Newark Liberty
- Dallas/Fort Worth
- Detroit Metropolitan
More airports may be added later.
Delta, American and United have voluntarily suspended all flights to and from mainland China.
