Beaches at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth - no parking, walk or bike in only - and at Wells (walking swimming, fishing, surfing but no sunbathing) were open Memorial Day weekend.
Public restrooms at beaches in York will be closed until 1 June.
Old Orchard Beach was open at the weekend "for walking only" - but many tourists ignored that rule. Also ignored was Maine's 14-day-quarantine requirement for visitors From Away; some explained that time didn't permit them to quarantine for 14 days as they were in Maine "only for the weekend"...
Police in several jurisdictions have said that they are for the most part relying on voluntary compliance and education - vice enforcement - of COVID-19 restrictions.

- Reid State Park
- Popham Beach State Park
- Fort Popham,
- Fort Baldwin
- Kettle Cove State Park
- Two Lights State Park
- Crescent Beach State Park
