The Beijing 2022 Organising Committee has announced in an online statement that because of the "current grave and complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators" it has ended domestic ticket sales for this year's Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Instead the Committee will "invite groups of spectators" who are expected to "strictly abide by the COVID-19 countermeasures before, during and after each event."

From Day 1, no tickets were sold to persons from outside mainland China.
