As Russian troops reportedly began to invade Ukraine early this morning, Russia has issued a series of Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) suspending civilian air traffic until 18 May over essentially all of Ukraine in the Sebastopol and Rostov Flight Information Regions (FIRs).
Dnipro International Airport is now closed.
Most passenger airlines had already been avoiding the Ukraine airspace for several weeks, out of concern related to the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 which was shot down over Ukraine by Russian rebels in 2014.
