Allied Irish Banks tourism chief David McCarthy sees an opportunity for Irish hotels in the current security concerns about the rest of Europe.

McCarthy also recommends that Irish hotels "diversify" in order to offset the negative impact of fewer visitors coming from the UK.

Perhaps he means the hotels should diversify their marketing - something that Tourism Ireland is already working very hard on.

Direct flights from China would surely help - maybe in 2018?
