McCarthy also recommends that Irish hotels "diversify" in order to offset the negative impact of fewer visitors coming from the UK.

Perhaps he means the hotels should diversify their marketing - something that Tourism Ireland is already working very hard on.

Direct flights from China would surely help - maybe in 2018?
