URI researchers interviewed 205 people on Block Island - 139 of whom were visitors.

Key questions were something like:

1. "Do you feel the wind farm is good for the residents of the island?"
2. "Does the presence of the wind farm affect your desire to return to the island?"

"A majority" answered "yes" to #1 (but a minority said the project had an adverse effect on the environment, and there was "some ambivalence"). 77% answered "No" to #2.

Some visitors said they came specifically to see the wind farm.

I'm surprised the survey found that degree of acceptance of the wind farm. I don't believe that would be the case anywhere in northern New England tourist country.
