Consumers worldwide plan to travel in 2023
At its Global Summit taking place this week the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced the findings of a new global survey of consumer travel intentions in the next 12 months.
Key findings:
- 63% of world consumers say they plan to take at least one leisure trip in the next 12 months.
- 27% plan to take 3 or more trips in the next 12 months.
- Biggest spenders are expected to be residents of:
- Australia
- Canada
- Saudi Arabia
- Philippines
- 61% of respondents said they prefer brands and destinations that are more sustainable.
- 45% said they will spend only with brands that are socially and environmentally responsible.
The WTTC 22nd World Travel and Tourism Council Summit began today 28 November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will continue through 1 December.
Findings are based on data from a YouGov survey of 26,000+ consumers in 25 countries.
