Short-term-rental marketers Airbnb have reported that 425,000 guests used their Maine properties in 2018 and paid 6200 hosts a total of around $66M.

Most of the Airbnb stays were in Cumberland and York counties.

AIrbnb properties are unregulated in most Maine municipalities, making them a serious competitive to "commercial" hotels, inns and BnBs.
