At 4.4M, US air arrivals reached 80.4% of pre-pandemic level in May 2023
The US International Trade Administration reports that in May 2023, non-US-citizen air passenger arrivals from foreign countries totaled 4.407 million, up 22.9% from May 2022 and at 80.4% of pre-pandemic May 2019 level.
Top 5 countries for total US air passenger travel (arrivals + departures) in May 2023 were:
- Mexico
- Canada
- UK
- Germany
- Dominican Republic
Travel to/from the South-Central-America-Caribbean Region was up 1.0% vs. May 2019, but travel to/from Europe was down 7.4% and that from Asia was down 36.3%.
Top US port for international travel was New York (JFK), while top foreign ports of origin were:
- London Heathrow (LHR)
- Toronto (YYZ)
- Cancun (CUN)
- Paris (CDG)\Frankfurt (FRA)
