Kenya Tourism Board MD Betty Radier said in a statement yesterday that her organization plans to leverage the global appeal of motorsport in order to increase tourism to Kenya post-pandemic.
Ms Radier said:
"Due to the kilometers and routes covered in the destination, motorsport puts a focus on attractions and enables visitors and prospective travelers to get a glimpse of the destinations' offerings."
In the 2022 East African Safari Classic Rally which will begin on Thursday 10 February, 50 teams from around Africa and the world will cover around 3,000 miles across more than 360 towns in Kenya. This event is considered to be the world's toughest rally, and there will be extensive global media coverage.
