Massachusetts Gaming Commission

The Gaming Commission approved the MGM tourism marketing plan - required under the MA law that allows the construction and operation of casinos in the state - on 19 June 2018.

Some features of the plan are:

  • Partnering with Pioneer Valley Transit Authority to provide a free shuttle (the Loop) linking the casino with downtown Springfield
  • Booking 6 MGM entertainment events annually into CityStage and Symphony Hall
  • Promoting local and regional experiences like golf, fishing, skiing, foliage tours
  • Partnering with Amtrak on ticket discounts
  • Bus tour program
  • Partnerships with local attractions

Every tourism region in New England should be watching this. Best of luck to the citizens of Springfield.
