Construction of the Tribal Winds Casino (architect's rendering, above) proposed by the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan tribes for East Windsor, CT to combat competition from MGM Springfield continues to remain on hold.
Former Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke declined to approve an amendment to an agreement between the tribes and the State of Connecticut that from the Federal perspective would be required in order for the project to go forward.
Some CT politicians have advocated going ahead with construction regardless, but immediate past CT Attorney General George Jepsen advised against it.
How will 2019 CT Gov New Lamont's new AG William Tong rule on this issue?
Stay tuned.
