City of Rockland

The Rockland City Council voted last week to set limits on cruise ships entering the City's harbor:

  • Ships carrying up to 500 passengers: max 2 at a time
  • Ships carrying more than 500 passengers: September and October only, max 6 visits a year
  • September and October daily passenger max: 3000, monthly passenger max 9000

Ships that already have harbor reservations will be exempt from these limits.

Predictably, citizens' reactions were mixed.
