AAA predicts that more than 37M Americans will travel more than 50 miles from home between 27 and 31 May 2021 - 60% more than last year, but still nearly 6M fewer than in 2019.

AAA is seeing significant recent increases in online search and bookings for hotels and car rental on AAA.com. Domestic travel and road trips predominate. Most popular road-trip destinations are:

Also AAA expects nearly 6X as many travelers vs. 2020 - nearly 2.5M people - will fly to their Memorial Day weekend destinations this year, and another 237,000 will travel by bus, train and otherwise.
