International arrivals to US +10.5% YOY in June 2024

The US National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) of the Department of Commerce reported today that non-US citizen air passenger arrivals to the US from foreign countries inn June 2024 totaled 4.682 million, up 10.5% from June 2023. This was 88.8% of June 2019 arrivals.

Also in June there were 2.902 million overseas visitor arrivals - i.e., international arrivals not originating from Canada or Mexico - to the US. This was 83.3% of June 2023 overseas arrivals.

Total arrivals and departures between the US and other countries in June departed or arrived in:

  1. Mexico: 3.526M
  2. Canada: 2.949M
  3. UK: 2.137M
  4. Germany: 1.128M
  5. Dominican Republic: 1.094M

Total arrivals and departures between the US and other regions in June departed or arrived in:

  1. Europe: 8.093M (+7.7% vs. June 2023, +1.04% vs. June 2019)
  2. South/Central America & Caribbean: 6.001M (+13.2% vs. June 2023, +17.4% vs. June 2019)
  3. Asia: 2.665M (+23.1% vs. June 2023 but -20.3% vs. June 2019)

Top US ports for international travel were:

  • New York (JFK) 3.375M
  • Los Angeles (LAX) 2.245M
  • Miami (MIA) 2.133M
  • San Francisco (SFO) 1.555M
  • Chicago (ORD) 1.513M

Top foreign ports serving US locations were:

  • London Heathrow (LHR) 1.763M
  • Cancun (CUN) 1.159M
  • Toronto (YYZ) 1.127M
  • Paris (CDG) 911K
  • Frankfurt (FRA) 742K

Numbers are based on stays of one or more nights by holders of certain types of passports.
