International visitors to US spent $21.2B in June 2024
Spend by international visitors on travel to, and tourism-related activities in, the US was up 14% from June 2023.
Americans spent $20.8B traveling abroad, for a small trade surplus of $360M.
Year-to-date spend by foreign visitors was up 17% vs. 2023, averaging $697M per day January-June.
Travel and tourism accounted for 8% of all US exports in June 2024.
In June, international visitors spent $11.7B on travel-related goods and services while in the US, along with $3.5B on airfare paid to US carriers.
