On 12 June in a media release Irish Ferries announced a further delay - on top of an earlier delay announced in April - in delivery of its new ship WB Yeats by German builders Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft & Co.
Irish Ferries had planned to put the ship into service on the line's Dublin-Cherbourg route on 30 July 2018. The new delay impacts about 6000 bookings, 40% of which have so far been accommodated through alternative transportation.
Not an auspicious beginning for WB Yeats.
