In 2018 WestJet will offer seasonal direct London-Halifax service vice London-St. John's.
But again this year WestJet will offer seasonal direct Dublin-St.John's service. And Air Canada will operate London-St. John's direct, but at higher rates than WestJet's.
NL Tourism Minister Christopher Mitchelmore seemed unsurprised by WestJet's move, saying "... this province is a small marketplace, especially compared with Nova Scotia..."
Some NL tourism business owners aren't happy, and I don't blame them.
