Quantas 787-9
On 9 February Quantas began 3/week flights between Brisbane and San Francisco. The US is Brisbane's 4th largest visitor market, with visits up 10.5% in 2019, and there's believed to be pent-up demand for flights from California to Brisbane.
And on 3 February Lufthansa began 6/week service between Munich and Newcastle UK. The new route opens up onward connections from Newcastle to 130 European destinations. Eurowings currently flies 6/week between Dusseldorf and Newcastle. More than 100,000 passengers flew between Newcastle and Germany in 2019.
